Our candle collection is handcrafted by our team in our workshop in Le Touquet.
They contain European soya wax and coconut oil, and burn for around 45 hours.
Here are the best practices to adopt for your safety and for the maintenance of your candle:
On first use: the wax should melt evenly over its entire surface. If you want to maximise the life of your candle, leave it to burn for a few hours until the surface of your scented candle is liquid. The top layer of wax should be perfectly even. This will prevent the formation of a small crater around the wick and drips on the edges of the container.
-Never leave a candle burning unattended
-Do not place your candle directly on an unprotected table or piece of furniture. Use a suitable support to enjoy your candle in complete safety.
-Keep out of the reach of children and pets
-Keep the candle away from all combustible and/or flammable sources (curtains, tablecloths, net curtains, furniture, etc.)
-Do not burn the candle for more than 2 consecutive hours.
-Make sure the candle is on a flat surface when burning
-Do not move a burning candle, or when the wax is still liquid
-Never leave pieces of match or wick on a glowing candle
-Trim the wick regularly so that it does not exceed 5 mm in height.
It is essential to shorten the wick by about 0.5 cm to 1 cm from the surface. If the wick is too long, the flame will be higher and the wax consumed more quickly. As a result, your candle emits black smoke that can be harmful to your health. Black carbon deposits are found at the end of the wick and settle in the liquid wax, altering the quality of the scent.
-Don’t let a candle burn out completely: extinguish it when about 2 cm of wax remains (even if it’s annoying to think that your candle is finished when there’s still some wax left).
-Never place a candle near a source of heat
-Always remove flammable packaging and decoration before lighting: lid, packaging, etc.
-Respect the use for which the product is intended
