The tealight holder is a timeless decorative object that brings a warm and romantic atmosphere to any room in the house. It can be used to create a warm and subdued atmosphere in a bedroom or living room.
Q de Bouteilles collaborates with the company Malàkio to bring to life a tealight holder made from recycled materials.
Malàkio collects the raw material from oyster farmers and restaurateurs in Brittany and Charente. After natural drying, they transform them in Nantes where they make all of their objects. The low-tech process without cooking and the proximity of the raw materials makes it possible to make, from this composite, unique or series objects with a very low GHG footprint.
The glass bell is made by Q de Bouteilles from a magnum of Burgundy or Bordeaux wine, highlighting the beauty of raw and recycled glass. To make the base of the tealight holder, Malàkio incorporates crushed glass from Q de Bouteilles product offcuts and oyster shells.
Each base/bell is unique and is shaped by hand.
The Malàkio base is heat resistant, prolonged contact with a flame and any prolonged contact with a liquid should be avoided.
To clean it, the workshop advises you not to use chemical detergent products.
The tealight holders are now available in several sizes and several colors on the e-shop and in the Q de Bouteilles boutique in Le Touquet.
